Harriet plays an important role in decision-making and in the growth of Musana. Harriet is 50 years old and has two children and two grandchildren. She is kind-hearted and is an advocate for women in her community. Harriet never passes up the opportunity to support health initiatives or include more women in working with Musana.
Harriet was fortunate enough to receive a good education growing up, even though she was part of a huge family of twelve children. She married after her secondary schooling was complete, but after her husband became sick in the early 80s with AIDS, Harriet soon discovered that she was HIV positive. It has been a difficult journey to find work and integrate herself into the Lugazi community as an HIV positive woman, but Harriet's drive to provide for her family and learn as much as she can has brought her to where she is today.
