Job Overview:

Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Housekeeping Aide at Richmond Hospital! We are looking for dedicated individuals to help keep our facilities clean and safe for everyone—patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various cleaning tasks like:
  • Dusting surfaces
  • Mopping and floor cleaning
  • Using equipment to maintain and refinish floors
  • Disinfecting walls, ceilings, furniture, equipment, and washrooms
  • Handling and disposing of waste, including biomedical waste
  • Cleaning up spills and making beds
  • Keep the building clean according to VCH policies and standards.

About the Environmental Services Team:
This team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment through medical-grade cleaning and disinfection. They work closely with infection control and patient care teams to clean different areas of the hospital, remove waste, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of Grade 10 or a similar mix of education and experience.

Skills:

  • Physically capable of doing the job.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently.
  • Organized and able to operate related equipment.

Additional Information:

  • Work hours and duties may change as needed, following the Collective Agreement and regulations.
  • A Criminal Records Review Check may be required for successful candidates.
  • All VCH employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with proof required.
