Job Role
Caregivers help seniors in their homes in Cobourg, Port Hope, and nearby areas. They offer companionship, help around the house, and personal care to help seniors stay comfortable and independent. Many clients may have dementia or other cognitive conditions.
Caregiver Responsibilities:
- Build relationships through conversations and activities.
- Prepare meals and snacks (meal prep experience is helpful).
- Light cleaning (sweeping, vacuuming, laundry, organizing, etc.).
- Assist with personal care (walking, dressing, bathing, using the toilet).
- Run errands and drive seniors to appointments.
- Provide memory care for clients with dementia.
Ideal Candidates Have:
- Experience caring for seniors in community or retirement homes.
- A proven ability to treat seniors with kindness and respect.
- Good communication skills for talking with clients and staff.
- Open availability during the week and on alternate weekends.
- A valid Canadian driver’s license, insurance, and a reliable car (preferred).
- Ability to provide a clear police check and driver’s abstract.
Compensation: $17.50–$23.00 per hour (extra pay for those with a PSW certificate).
