Job Overview:
Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Housekeeping Aide at Richmond Hospital! We are looking for dedicated individuals to help keep our facilities clean and safe for everyone—patients, families, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various cleaning tasks like:
- Dusting surfaces
- Mopping and floor cleaning
- Using equipment to maintain and refinish floors
- Disinfecting walls, ceilings, furniture, equipment, and washrooms
- Handling and disposing of waste, including biomedical waste
- Cleaning up spills and making beds
- Keep the building clean according to VCH policies and standards.
About the Environmental Services Team:
This team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment through medical-grade cleaning and disinfection. They work closely with infection control and patient care teams to clean different areas of the hospital, remove waste, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Completion of Grade 10 or a similar mix of education and experience.
Skills:
- Physically capable of doing the job.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others and independently.
- Organized and able to operate related equipment.
Additional Information:
- Work hours and duties may change as needed, following the Collective Agreement and regulations.
- A Criminal Records Review Check may be required for successful candidates.
- All VCH employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with proof required.
