Wage: $26.73 per hour

Job Overview

As a Potato Receiver, you will report to the Potato Receiving Supervisor and be responsible for managing all incoming materials for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate all potato receiving equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Work quickly and adapt to production needs.
  • Work independently with little supervision.
  • Follow Total Quality Control (MQP) procedures and complete check sheets.
  • Keep your work area clean and follow set standards.
  • Maintain Main-Line and Bi-Line KW’s.
  • Perform Gravity and Color tests, and fix the Grader when needed.
  • Enter data into PC&R systems.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • High school diploma and basic math skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Comfortable working in rotating shifts.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable working in extreme temperatures, high humidity, and dusty environments.
  • Able to monitor equipment and troubleshoot issues.
  • Understanding of WHIMIS, plant sanitation, industrial chemicals, and HACCP.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals.

Experience and Training

  • Willing to complete Forklift, Personal Fall Protection, and Scissor/Boom Lift training (for heights up to 20’).
  • Ability to safely operate this equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to perform all job tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Wage Information

  • Starting rate: $26.73 per hour
  • After 6 months: $27.99 per hour
